Remorses
Remorses is a psychological folk horror game set in the fictional region of River Valley, where local legends, forgotten rituals, and buried trauma intertwine. As players investigate a series of disturbing disappearances, they are drawn into a world shaped by grief, obsession, and the lingering presence of an ancient evil.
As the project's composer and sound designer, my role was to help shape the atmosphere and emotional identity of this world through both music and sound. Inspired by rural folklore, decaying analog technology, old tape recordings, and the fragile nature of memory, I crafted a sonic language that constantly blurs the line between reality and hallucination.
From subtle environmental storytelling to moments of intense psychological tension, the audio experience was designed to evolve alongside the player. Interactive music systems respond to the dangers lurking beneath the surface, gradually transforming familiar themes into something darker and more unsettling as the narrative unfolds.
The goal was not simply to create fear, but to build a world that feels haunted by its own history—where every sound carries a trace of the past, and every silence leaves room for doubt.
